Due to information given to me today by a concerned US citizen I launched an independent investigation into a clinic in Tennessee called Cool Springs Family Medicine..

This clinic claim to be holistic healers, and have made the detrimental decision to state that they will no longer supply parents with vaccinations as, according to their website and blog, they cause autism.

This is blatant misinformation and fear mongering, they are risking an outbreak of highly infectious disease causing dreadful harm to people with compromised immune systems and with heart and lung problems.

Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Polio being just a few, the effects of which can be seen in the accompanying pictures.

It seemed completely unbelievable to me that an actual working medical practice could have a blog on their website talking about going up against big Pharmaceutical companies along with photos of smiling welcoming doctors, mothers posing with adorable babies that are supposedly non-vaccinated and a proclamation that their hyperbaric chambers may show improvement with neuro-developmental disorders, autism being listed as one of them.

There’s no scientific evidence that an oxygen tank can help, recover or cure an autistic brain.

It is, however an extremely lucrative business with one treatment costing $100 but, if you buy a block of ten they will cut you a deal that the price for each treatment is dropped to $89.

In a badly written blog entry on their website they irresponsibly claim that autism is an epidemic and ‘Don’t quote the single study by the CDC that states the MMR has no link to Autism.’

They then state ‘One of the authors of that paper Dr.Thompson said that the data was falsified and the study manipulated. So with this information and the lack of studies that prove the safety of combined vaccines, I can do no harm, so I’m out’.

Correct me if I’m wrong but that proclamation incites that Dr Thompson was a party to a falsified paper, which is untrue, but if it were would that not mean this writer and worryingly medical professional was believing a liar and thus putting the vulnerable public at risk?

That, I’m sure, sounds reassuring and totally plausible to an anti vaxer and so I decided to ring up as an anti vax mother of an autistic child and got a lot more then I bargained for, I was told after inquiring about their hyperbaric chambers that they have a good recovery rate with autism.

When I asked if they could cure it I was told yes.

I was also told that they do not have vaccines on the premises and that if a parent wished to vaccinate they would direct them elsewhere.

This is one of the easiest articles I’ve ever written, the danger this practice is posing makes it so.

They repeatedly make false claims, reckless claims and go against everything a responsible medical facility is meant to be.

I spoke to Christina Sturges, a nurse from the US who works in Long Term Care and cares for the most vulnerable in society, the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

“Given that every authority of the matter recommends the same standard vaccination schedule, I’d say this clinic is directly going against the standard of care.

This is unacceptable in medicine. We trust physicians and other clinicians to provide us with the most accurate and up-to-date information as proven by medical researchers and generally recognized within medical community.

It is certainly not ok to spread lies and misinformation about one of the most important medical breakthroughs ever. Dr. Jonas Salk is rolling in his grave. These people are a disgrace and do not represent those of us who work our asses off to ensure people are getting proper care and treatment.”
